Life as an Artist

Marianella Desanti is an active dance artist based in Edinburgh, who always endeavours to tell human narratives through art and performances of powerful dance impressions through numerous solo and collaborative projects with artists from around the world.

Marianella was born in Brighton, England, of Costa Rican parents. She has lived a lifetime of both foreignness and belonging to different nations and cultures. 

Through the richness of multiple residencies, Marianella has danced in Washington DC, Maryland, Mexico, Costa Rica, London and Edinburgh. Her extensive professional career has included dancing with the Washington National Opera, Spanish Dance Theatre, Danza Libre, Cuballet, DannsEd, Scottish Traditional Dance Forum, among other commercial, freelance, international and community dance projects.
